Draft Pool

UNGL Players,

Thank you for your talented play and participation in the 2009-2010 UNGL Mini Camp Process. Many of you have made the Draft Eligible List for our 1st Annual UNGL Draft. The final Mini Camp in Texas is being evaluated as I send out this message to you, the players. I also felt that it is important that I update you on where we are in the Draft Placement process.

I refuse to rush the Player Evaluation Process, so I will take as much time as I feel is needed to give every player a great look and evaluation all of their talents, before I release the Texas Draft Eligible List along with the 70 man team Report to Camp list.

If you do not make the Draft Eligible List or you do not get Drafted onto one of the eight teams, your name will go into a Free Agent Pool, and as our teams have need of players throughout the season, you may be called back for a personal workout and tryout. So be sure to stay ready.

For players that do not get Drafted or do not make the Draft List, it may have come down to one or more of the following reasons:

  1. Not prepared to play that day.
  2. Was not in great shape.
  3. Was not physical enough.
  4. Did not have great football skills.
  5. Did not dominate your position in drills.
  6. Did not cover well, catch the ball well, maintain blocks well limited pass rush ability, did not throw well, missed plays, fumbled, dropped passes, too slow, did not follow instruction well, did not hit the hole properly, bad positioning in coverage and tackling.

So as a player do not walk away mad, just be ready for our next set of Free Agent Mini Camps in 2010.

Remember Every Day is a chance to get better.
